WWE’s Q1 2021 Investor Conference Call and earnings report took place yesterday and many subjects were addressed, including a return to FULL TIME TOURING.
One of the most noteworthy items is that WWE is hopeful to return to the road FULL TIME in the 2nd half of the year. This has to be be great news for anyone who loves attending WWE live events.
WWE Chief Financial Officer Kristina Salen responded to an investor question about whether or not WWE will go ‘full blown touring’ or continue their ThunderDome residency while touring:
“We haven’t decided yet what our touring plans will be for this summer.
But we are very hopeful that we return to touring in the second half of this year. And our hope is that we go to full touring, not that we have retained semi-permanent residency in one location and go half-out so to speak.
Our guidance, just so you know, assumes that we go full touring in the second half of this year, which is what we disclosed when we talked about our guidance back in February.
So going half semi-permanent residency and half touring, wouldn’t be the most ideal situation from a financial perspective, but also, really, just from a fan engagement perspective. We’re really looking forward to getting out on the road again.”
WWE currently has a residency in place at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida and it should be expiring sometime in August.
Furthermore, WWE is also expected to book a stadium venue for SummerSlam. Early front runners for the big event are Arizona and Texas.
