Word broke yesterday from The Wrestling Observer that WWE has some serious interest in New Japan Pro Wrestling star Shinsuke Nakamura. The majority of New Japan Pro Wrestling contracts are on a year-to-year basis and negotiations are starting between NJPW & Nakamura about a new deal.
However, it has been noted by Court Bauer & Jason Powell from MLW Radio that Shinsuke Nakamura is a huge fan of American culture, which could be a deciding factor in signing with WWE. His work in Ring of Honor has been critically acclaimed & there’s no doubt that WWE has seen the potential that he brings.
The difference between Shinsuke Nakamura & other Japanese talents (even current NXT star Hideo Itami) is that he has loads of charisma that is translated to any language. With the WWE Network continuing to expand internationally, there is more room for talent form other countries.
