The New Day “gets” what being pro wrestlers is all about

Everyone always says pro wrestling is an easy formula to crack. You get over with the audience and the rest is history. That’s all you have to do. Triple H has said it and Vince McMahon has said it too. Well, The New Day got the message loud and clear. When Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods were given a beyond atrocious gimmick, they realized that while the gimmick was horrendous, they were given the ball at the same time. The New Day took that ball and ran with that terrible gimmick.

Obviously it wasn’t in the direction everyone thought it would be, but it was to somewhere. Now 8 months later, they are one of the most over attractions that the WWE has to offer. This upcoming babyface run is going to be epic to watch as will their entrance at WrestleMania. And to think it all came from that simple formula.

Chris Jericho is the best true heel that the WWE has on its roster

Chris Jericho works incredibly hard to be the best in the world at what he does. See what I did there? Right now, he needs to be utterly hated in his feud with AJ Styles and to no surprise at all, he’s getting the job done. What is a surprise is just how well he is getting his job done. This is Y2J we’re talking about here. The guy is a bonafide legend and an important feature act of the WWE.

In reality, no real fan should be booing him. Jericho won’t accept that though. For as loved as he is, its clear from the promos that he’s been cutting that he is determined to be the most hated heel there is. His commitment to that task is making his character better and making the feud better too. Aside from Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho is the best heel that WWE has going today.

Kevin Owens has a future behind the broadcast desk on Monday Night Raw

Kevin Owens is complete money as an announcer. Yes, he is funny, sarcastic, and downright entertaining. More importantly than that though, he knows how to sell a match perfectly. Its totally natural for him and seamless to roll the story of the match he is watching and feud he is discussing off the tongue like its nothing.

For the love of god give him a program he can sink his teeth into at WrestleMania. Owens vs. Sami Zayn is queued up perfectly. WWE, if you can pull the trigger on Ryback/Kalisto for the US title, pull the trigger on this too!

Ambrose vs. Lesnar will be the best match on the card at WrestleMania 32

This feud is a classic example of putting incredible talent in front of a TV camera and letting them do what they do best. If you think about it, there is no real reason why Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose are fighting. Sure, Lesnar attacked Ambrose in a parking lot. Yes, Dean Ambrose did use a chair on Lesnar during a championship match to prevent Lesnar from winning a title.

The most important reason though? They just want to fight. Not too many guys on the roster could pull that off successfully and it’s a true testament to both Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose. The build is perfect and the match won’t disappoint either.

When you have this type of talent in a ring, once again, get out the TV cameras and let them film greatness. This match will be the one everyone’s talking about when the dust settles in Dallas.

Key pieces of the big Undertaker/Shane storyline MUST be revealed, and soon…

As wrestling fans we’re conditioned to ignore certain things about history. That truth has been evident for an eternity. What we can’t ignore is simple logic. We can ignore little things like minor storyline tweaks or errors in title lineage. We can even ignore more complex logic. But simple logic? That is something we need. The reason we need that key piece is because it is the cog that makes these storylines make sense.

The feud and story between The Undertaker and Shane McMahon is missing that cog. We still do not know why Undertaker has agreed to this match and to fight on the behalf of Vince McMahon. That is a simple logical hole that the WWE has chosen not fill in.

The longer they take to fill that in, the less and less intriguing the match gets because the more and more confusing it gets instead. There are so many ways to take it. Pick one.

Thanks for reading, everyone.
